ps ratio for the jspec

I read all about depowering my power sterring rack because this is something I would really like to do. I want to find out the steering rack ratio for a 90 turbo that came from japan with right side steering. Is there any other significant differences I should know about. This rack and pump were a lot different than the one that was with the engine I took out. This one has I believe 5 lines going into it. I believe the other one had less.

There are but two PS systems- the engine speed(RPM) sensing version (which has two lines) and the speed sensing one which has three lines.

The procedure for depowering either is the same, the difference is the ratio of the rack itself.
Personally, I decided it would be simpler to just replace the rack altogether with a manual version and not have to dick around with welding the quill, etc.

There are two ratios of manual racks- a 15:1 and the slower 20:1(?)- mine is the "slower" of the two.
In my DD, it seems perfect...steering effort is not onerous and the feel is an improvement over the RPM sensing PS rack originally fitted to my S5 NA.

Here's how I did it.

Nice post. That would be the way I would want to go, but I wonder how hard it would be to find a manual rack for a right hand drive car. Any one know where I could get one.
