ps pump wiring problem

I love rebuilds - I hate transplants!

Long and short of it

Restoring a 89 vert - purchased without motor
donor - 90 coupe

i have the oem ps pump from the vert. It has some kind of electric assist on top, however thats not the issue. the standard sensor on the lower drivers side is the issue. The vert wiring has a 1 wire plug and the pump that came with the car has 2 wires see pic Black plug = 1 wire and matches car however the sensor will not fit the pump.

the white plug on the left fits the pump but not the car. I cannot put the pump that the black sensor fits as it takes only two lines, the rack in the car takes three. So, do I attach the red wire form the white plug to the connection the black wire goes into and ground the black plug, or plug the black wire in and do something else with the red.

here is anther pic of the plugs

The two cars power steering pump/system is not interchangeable. The vert used speed sensitive power steering in 89, and the coupe used engine speed sensing power steering in 90.

Two entirely different systems and wiring.

The wiring on the vert matches the coupe, however the rack is for the vert I have a vert with a vert rack (3 hoses), ps pump that belongs in the vert (takes the three hoses). the only thing that does not match is the plug for the sensor which both models have. the odd thing is the harness has the proper plug for the additional part ontop of the resevoir from the vert system

thats what I have, the wierd thing is that the pump and rack is off a vert and the wiring harness looks like its off of a coupe thats where the issue lies

Your posts do not make sense... are you using coupe wiring harnesses or verts???

Which ever one you are using, you must use that sensor, pump and assembly, for it to plug in.

But it sounds like you are not.

I have the wiring diagrams, but you have not posted even one wire color so I am not sure what you are asking.
