PROJECT GTUs Stealth Assassin(Drivetrain)

Already have the GTUs loaded up with a Jspec Engine, BOV, Intake, full exhaust 2.5", air pump, p.s., removed.Boost guage and controller. No IC so right now I am not boosting(it does) but it drives, on Tokico gas struts laced with Intrax Springs. Now I need the drivetain. I have been told I need:
Clutch
Flywheel
Pressure Plate
Clutch Slave Cylinder
Driveshaft
Transmission
Differential ECU w/ wiring harness

Can I still keep the N/A flywheel? I'm already have the clutch and pressure plate, and driveshaft prices figured out. I need help with the clutch cylinder, driveshaft flanging to be drilled, trannie and the ECU thing......
I'll be Robert Stack here, If you, have any information, please let me know!!!!!!!! I live in St. Louis, Boostd 7 does Rotary Doctor, maybe do some help with this conversion. First and foremost a FMIC is gonna be purchased, I'd rather do the Drivetrain than rebuild the engine. Ahhhh, help me, I'm 16 and wanna work on my baby and do it right!!! I also need a new turbo indcut boot b/c it is brittled and leaks air, but I am getting that next paycheck.

It kinda sucks you used a GTUs for this conversion...
You would of got the same results using a base, and you wouldn't have had to tear apart a rare GTUs

With a base I would need to get a stronger differential, but the viscous GTUs will hold up, I'm bringing the best of an N/A to the best of a TII, I heard Jspecs are rated at 212hp? Besides I didn't start the conversion I bought it two months ago in this state, who knows where the original engine went... You can't not admit a Turbo GTUs wouldn't be nice........kind of like those Turbo Vert guys......

You'll have to use a TII flywheel if you use a TII transmission. What is a differential ecu.My differential has no wiring going to it.If you are refering to an ecu for the tranny.I believe that only applies to an automatic so I wouldn't think you'd have to worry about it.

I was confused on the ECU i just need a wiring harness for the differential, what about a lightweight flywheel like a billet aluminum, chromoly or the like?

this should help:

www.rotaryresurrection.com/t2conversion2.htm

You really shouldnt have used the GTUs(or the guy who began it) because you cant use the differential anyway. IF you change to a turbo drivetrain it will have to be replaced. The only advantage is the vehicle speed sensitive power steering that no other models had. Man, I think there were like 10 black on black 90 GTUs's around. ****.

BTW if anyone is looking i have a red 89 GTus with a rebuild for sale. I compression checked it today after having 4500 breakin miles...120psi per rotor, perfect starts and idle. All it needs is paint. Looking to get about $3500 with a cd player. email me if interested hypntyz@charter.net

hey japspec...im from st louis an want to congratulate you on getting such a find. i know why you did cuz of the same reason i bought my 86 sport many years ago. local ignorance.....when i transferred from 1 gen to 2 gen i did not make my decision because of experience or any black and white knowledge. i knew it was slower than my 1 gen it just looked damn good and i was ignorant to the specs..and their impact / value compared to any other 2 gen out there.

85 % of the people in missourri would think a t II was the same as a sport(i know cuz ivee seen many people ask me if my 86 was a spaceship)they would never know the different sublteties of an gtu /gtus

congrats!!

infini's had 215 i think. but that was from exhaust, nothing internal.

Dropped you a PM....

The NA diff in your GTUs I believe is just as weak as every other NA diff. If you're going for TII tranny, might as well just drop the TII driveshaft, rear, and half shafts in and not have to do any mods to the parts.

Someone will pay you nicely for the 4.30 GTUs rear if you do so!

Okay you guys gotta help with this problem I have. I have had this car for 3 months and I haven't been able to get the damn air pump on. It is not lining up with the pulleys right. I have two different top mounts and three different bottom mounts and none of them work!! the ****** Mazda dealership told me to order a new water pump and it would come with a bracket I needed. I ordered it an no bracket came. I spent 200 on a new water pump that I CANNOT return because it is a special item. Does anyone in St. Louis want to show me WTF i need to do. I have spent over 350 trying to get this air pump installed. It is the original air pump from the car. I didn't take it off the previous owner did. I cannot even get a waiver for the emissions place w/o the air pump attached. This sucks, please help, and if you have info on the TII drivetrain let me know as well. Thanks in advance.

#1. I've heard rumors that you can use an NA diff with a TII tranny by using an automatic driveshaft. I've never seen it done, but was told it works.

#2. Do you need the airpump to pass emissions? I might have a spare airpump bracket around. It is an S5 engine, right? (plastic neck on thermostat housing)

How exactly is the smog pump not going on? I have ~3 or so motors sitting with smog pumps on them, perhaps I can see if there's a difference between some of them.

I know I never have any different issues when I go to permanantly remove one!

I need an air pump bracket maybe top and bottom. Yes S5 motor and I must have it attached before they can even give me a waiver. The pulleys are lined up right horizontaly, I guess the air pulley sits out too far I'm not sure I wasn't watching them when they put it on. I wish I had more knowledge....I am getting info for it right now. I'll let you know. And if they sit on the other motors differently let me know okay? Thanks for all your guys' help.
