Production Line for BNR Supercars
Hey eveyone, I want to see what everyones interests are for the 2nd generation cars. What performance products do you like to see? As for now, I am gathering some thoughts about what I can produce that the majority of the people want. My ideas are:
3" stainless steel down pipe (turbo to Y)
full intake system from the turbo to filter
Top mounted intercooler set up w/ bypass valve kit
Fuel Cut Defensor (plug in style) ?able
3 stages of turbo upgrades for 86-91 cars
2 stages of Clutches for mild and wild
full tube intake system for non turbo cars
emissions block off plates
tubular manifolds? Twin and single
Ball bearing twin turbo set ups?
Give me some ideas!

I don't think an upgraded topmount I/C is available, that would be nice for those w/ maxed out stock turbos or upgraded compressor sections that don't want the lag/expense of a FMIC and don't need it for the moderate power levels. A TID would be nice, very easy/cheap to make, put a checkvalve for open air venting the blow off valve in the kit!

I wouldn't mind a 3" dp that would bolt up to the stock y-pipe. I would definately switch over from the three pipes I have running up to my y-pipe in exchange for one long dp. I could finally get rid of my damn annoying sounding exhaust leak.

How bout something that "looks" like a cat. You have no idea (here in VA with only visual inspection) how much a DP with a (baffle shell--some bs name so you can get away with it) cat like appearance would sell. Retain stock appearance, but get away with good performance .
Another thing, sell adapters for cone air filters for 89-91s. The AFM inlet is near 2.5" O.D. No hardware store sells a damned thing that's 2.5".
Cheap FMIC, with tubing. If you could get away with little to no cutting and battery relocation, that'd be great.
Copy fiberglass kits. Nuff said.
How bout making all the block off plates and everything into a kit (as an option) so that you can get everything you need to rip it all off. Include some gaskets etc...
Just some ideas...

Josephi, Emmissions is only onced a year isn't it? Why not get the emissions tested with the stock stuff then put the pipes back on?
I don't do dummy pipes!!!!!
The FMIC would be a bit expensive, but doable. I am a fan of plug and play. if something is 100% bolt up, then the majority will praise the product. If it is a pain to install, cutting holes and junk, sometimes the FMIC isn't worth it. (ESPECIALLY WHEN IT ISN"T INSTALLED STRAIT AND ITS ALL SIDEWAYS!)
I remember when I bought a down pipe and mid pipe for my t2 when I first bought it. It looked hideous. They were just cat replacement pipes and stll retained the stock in between cat pipe. I like simple and nice looking parts, but ofcourse they have to perform!.
Thanks for the replys and keep them coming!

More N/A performance parts... There's a much larger market for N/A's considering how many of them there are compaired to TII's.... Aftermarket VDI intake manifold "kit" for 86-88 N/A's. Turbo kit for N/A's. Supercharger kit (maybe use like a Miata Vortech or somthing with costom brackets? I dunno...). 4 to 5 lug hub and 4 piston caliper conversion "kit". And all 2nd gen RX-7's could benifit from a better MAF. That flapper door bullshit is just dumb. Beefier drivetrain "kit" (TII drivetrain swap made into a kit) Pretty much all the stuff we can do to an N/A, put into a kit. Saves the time and energy of finding used parts, rebuilding/costomizing them (to get them to work), and installing them.

air flow meter isn't a problem. I have seen cars make plenty of power with the air flow meters ( ofcourse they were forced induction cars!). One thing I will not do is acessories! I can't get into all that t2 brake stuff. you can find a wrecked t2 for 200 bucks and have everything you need . I am pretty much concentrating on turbo cars, but if you have a good Idea I may consider it. Keep em coming! I forgot to add that I may do special order engines. Haven't went into indepth thought about that yet. I am in process of a web page so I want to fill it up with stuff to sell and make!
thanks again!
