Angry Problem w/ MazdaTrix SS

Just got a new MazdaTrix SS and tried installing it, everything went fine til we had to put the new lever in. It wouldnt fit? It looks like the ball on the new SS is larger than the stock lever. Dont know if its ment to be like that, but the stock lever just fits in perfectly and the new one wont even get in. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks yall

Brian

Yes I did. I put everything together like it said in the instructions. I even went to the website and double checked to make sure everything was alright. I dont know whats up. But when I look at the two levers, the ball on the MazdaTrix is a little bigger.

This might sound like a stupid question. But are you positive you got the FC shifter not the FD shifter? Just making sure.

My advice would be to send it back and purchase one from this site. I have had my car serviced here and they are a GREAT company.

Thats wacked. I got one for my '88 vert from them and it dropped right in. From what I remember the only difference between and S5 and S4 are the threads for the shifter ****.
It does make you wonder if they sent a 2nd or 3rd gen shifter.

Try screwing on your shifter ****. If it won't thread on, it is not an S4 shifter.

I saw some post about the miata ss, but did not think much of it b/c my brother already purchased the ss for me while I was at training and it was here when I got back. If I can't figure this out in the next few days I'm gonna send it back and look elsewhere.
