Problem: Super ninja strenght bolt wont come off

Its the lock nut for the hub.

I want to put spacers on, in the back, but the lock nut wont come off.

What the hell. I'm using a wrench and pulling the suspension up...or down...

I'd use a torch but I'm pretty sure thats not a good idea considering the bearing right behind it.

Any suggestion?

First of all, did you take the cotter pin out of the middle of the crown nut? (front)

Or did you take that little lock tab out? (pry it out with a screw driver for the rears)

If its on the rear hub assembly, the nuts are usually very secure.. and you probably wont be able to take it off with a wrench.. breaker bar and socket will work. or impact gun.

Ok. Shes a freakin super hero.

Here's the situation.

3 foot breaker bar, 32mm socket, 1/2 inch ratchet....And the **** wont come off. I am actually bending the breaker bar and almost lifting the car off the jack...

Wtf!?

I'm about to torch the bitch. Would that affect the bearing?

Spray it down w penetrating oil and let it sit for an hour or so. Then give it a shot and if its still a bitch, take a little heat to it. I hear what you're saying about the bearing, so don't cook the thing, but just a bit should do. At that point, what other choice do you have?

Impact did it.

It took 1 minute and a half of constant impacting, but it got out.

Wish I had air tools... For those o you without, I used a good breaker bar and put a 2 ton floor jack under the end of it. I raised the jack to turn the bar against the weight of the car. Almost picked the car up off the jackstands but it did break the nut loose.

I just took these off today to put dtss eliminators on. I put a cinderblock to the side of it and a wrench in the lugs to keep the hub from moving. Put a 1 1/4in box wrench on it and stood on it. Both sides came right off without even uncrimping the tab.

I have a doubt the nut is on there that tight. Make sure its not held by a crimp some where. That will really make it hard to take off
