Problem with my t.p.s.

Ok i had my car go through the machine and it said that I needed to change my t.p.s. and the map sensor so I changed them and the "check engine" light went out so I thought it was done. So I test drove the car and everything was fine then the light turned on again and it turned off on me. So I didn't know what went wrong and a friend of mine told me that I have to take it to the mazda dealer and have them make the computer of the t.p.s. compatible with the computer to the car. And I've never heard of that job before has anybody done that before? And if you have is there anything that I can do myself to fix it?

You need to make certain your TPS is of the same year range.
What i mean is a S4 (86-88) TPS is not compatible with the S5 (89-91).

You might also just need to adjust the TPS to be with in spec. Download the FSM and check the TPS to make sure it is adjusted properly.

I assume it's a 89/91, so check the ecu fault code to see where the problem might be:
http://www.1300cc.com/howto/how2/codes.html

After securing the code, give a yell back for additional help.

I already checked with the ecu fault code and I checked the codes and it told me to change the map sensor and the t.p.s. So i did and now they told me that I have to modify the t.p.s.? Like do something with the settings so it could stop giving me that failure from time to time because I drove the car earlier today and it hasn't given me any problems so far but I know its only a matter of time until it does again.

After replacing the items, did you reset the ecu and see if the codes reappear?

dealer = knows about as much as written on my ***. They hate our cars, take it there and they will try to replae the entire intake manifold and tell you that you need a new engine. I'm warning you, never goto the dealer unless you have a print copy of a warrantee of whats getting fixed.

oh yeah never go to the dealer that's what I was thinking, I've never trusted a car dealer but I'm kind of running out of options here. I don't know where else to take it I'm going to serch the web and look for a spot that only works on rx7's and see what they can do for me so if anybody knows a place in miami, fl. please let me know, thanks!
