The pulsation dampener is part of the primary fuel rail. You can replace the 88 setup with an 89+ one, which has an integral dampener, put a new 86-88 dampener on, or replace the dampener with a banjo bolt.

The stock fuel system, and oiling system already uses a banjo bolt.
It is basically a hollow bolt that can feed the hollow center with holes at the edge of the bolt. Check out how your fuel line attaches.
The stock S4 series cars can simply unbolt the PD and put a banjo bolt in its place.

well the pulsation dampner smoothes out the fuel flow..i mean its like a cushion against impact of the fuel. if this is replaced with a solid bolt will there be any problems? you know...like a different piece failing.

im thinking it would be better to just check the pd whenever the hoods up and make sure its not cracking or worn looking.

I don't run a pulsation dampener, and I have no problems. It is common to ditch it on modded cars due to the higher fuel pressures, and that fact that it is not necessary. It gets rid of any risk of fire from that failure.

mahhh.... kinda.
I have extensive fuel modifcations. I did it when I did my fuel system mods. I got a S4 rail and did it, but don't run a banjo bolt specifically.
If you are worried about it, go ahead and ditch the PD. There are no real negatives.

call a salvage yard, and get a 89-90 one where the PD is built into the rail
