For the price spent on converting a NA to t2 why not go with a turbo kit?

Thats the only reason I'd do it, and if I was going to do that I think I'd have to save up more and do a 20B swap

I don't really recommend in turboing and NA car unless the circumstances requires it(well, makes it a better idea ). But aaron did a great job with his.

Well, people have their reasons for different things....
You can put a turbo on an N/A engine for much cheaper, and for less hassle than a full N/A->TII swap.
Also- the higher compression engine (which will ultimately limit boost... but not to the extent as people think) allows for more power and quicker spooling.

I did my conversion for around 1K Canadian $$, and that includes the turbo, manifold, dp, injectors, pump, S-AFC, two IC's, and all the related plumbing, etc.
With my car, I see up to 13psi with a ported wastegate, and that's on a STOCK DP!
Ya, I popped an apex seal, but it was going before the turbo went in... the engine's being rebuilt under warrantee... I'm also putting in a bigger pump, and bigger secondaries... as well as a manual boost controller.

If you want to argue about popping motors why dont you mention the fact that almost every turbo engine out there pops before 150k miles?

Oh, it definitly isn't, especially with a clogged exhaust...

I'm planning to post some dyno and 1/4 mile slips next spring, which I hope will settle all of the speculation. I have people thinking that it's running only marginally more then a stock NA, and I have people thinking it's putting down 300 RWHP. The reality is of course somewhere in between.

From what I saw, we had a meet In Niagra Falls. We went down a series of twisties. Really good turn out.

Anyway, from what I saw, Aaron's TIINA was holding up very good. Pretty fast, the little bastard.

Hey, Aaron... how much boost were you seeing at the track that one day I saw ya there?
(Don't worry, I won't tell anybody about your times.. cough 16's cough)....
J/K.. I know your exhaust was clogged, and the car was in dire need of tuning... Most N/A's should run quicker, obvisouly that wasn't a proper indicator of your car's potential! People shouldn't take it as such....
It was hot though... hell, my car was only running just over 15! Everyone seemed to be running slow.... I beat a lot of cars, Preludes, T/A's, etc, that were all running 16's, and should have been faster. Maybe the temp- and the long waits (heat soak).

Curious.. How much boost then?

BTW.... for all those thinking that they can add a turbo to an N/A run 5 lbs, and get more power... WRONG!!!!!!

I had a pretty free-flowing N/A engine... everything was ported... intake exhaust, etc.
The turbo represents a huge intake/ehxuast restriction.
Once you remove your nice CAI and headers, and replace that with a turbo, you really choke up the system.
At redline... when air flow is the greatest, my boost bleeds down to about 7 lbs, and power is probably 20-30 (at most) peak hp more than stock. (At redline, where my stock engine had it's peak power... very narrow though)
At any point along the rpms range, I need to hit about 3-4 psi before the car feels like it had tha same power as before the turbo. Just shows how much of a restriction it is! (Of course.. once it hits 13 psi, and my tires are scratching for traction in the middle of third..... hehehe... who cares!)

LOL. 3, maybe 4 PSI. Rather, 4 PSI, bleeding down to 3/2 close to redline. Seriously clogged cat, loaded with carbon and oil.

Quite true. I had the same experience. At 10 PSI, the car was scary. I like it. Can't wait for next spring when I have the bugs sorted out, a fresh clutch and some nice large ports...

I went a shop in miami today and they had 2 20b's with computers and trans. If I could I would pick them up and run. 4500 each.
