Price of Bridge Porting

I have a 1989 GTU...I have got one quote and have found another shop to get a quote from
The first quote was from a shop In GA and it was 5000(5k) for a bridge port...
does anyone know the average price for a good bridge port?? any good shops in the SC, NC, GA area???

I was quoted $7000 for the BP 13B I want. Just a bit more then just bridgeporting it though, I added in a few goodies.

is this a Bridgeported engine price? or the cost to take your engine in and have them port it for you!?

You think people would actually pay that much just to have their engine ported? I definitely wouldn't.

that has to be the cost for just dropin the whole car off and haveing them do everything...

I would charge...
$2,000 for engine rebuild - the engine has to come apart so you might as well rebuild it
$600 for the bridge port porting itself
$500 for removal
$500 for reinstallation
That's $3,600 right there.&nbsp The $5,000 does sound kinda high, unless...
Add $1,000 for adding strengthen stat gear and all new bearings with upgrade oil pressure regulator.&nbsp This will allow the engine to spin past 9,000RPM...then we start getting close to the $5,000 mark.

If you add in proper engine break-in, then that just about covers the $5,000 quote.
