pressure values under hood.

I am having over pressure problems under the hood.

I assume this condition only starts occuring while going over 75 mph. I can see the hood rise and the rear gasket came out twice now. However I was doing 120 mph both times.

I am getting a fair amount of hood lift and massive amounts of sand on top of intake manifold.

I am going to say the pressure issues come from my 3 air sources.

1. 4" ram air intake, located behind air dam
2. 3" ram air header box, intake located behind air dam
3. 3" ram air manifold box.

is there any way other than venting the boxor removing my boxes to keep them from over pressuring or somehow make the pressure leave the engine bay?

Do I need to cut pressure vents in the fenders?

any thoughts?

I may be wrong, but if either was loose or needed replaced, it wouldn't close right, body line gaps would be inconsisitent.

but thats not the case here.

Trying to see if I can vent this air out better/faster.

I really don't care about the gasket, if it comes out or stays. I just wonder if pressure is getting too high under there, which could lead to a flying away hood.

I am not going to put on those ricer hood pins..F that...

Is your undertray installed? Without it, road debris will be blown/sucked into the engine bay.

And what's all this "ram air" stuff as well? Pictures of the ducting would help.

1. Stop the air from flowing along the bottom side of the hood.
2. Install hood pins.

Air moving over the top of the hood causes negative pressure. Vent the hood or (real answer ==>) fix your weak hardware holding it down. Or add more hardware to hold it down.
