pressure plate worn?

i was looking at my aftermarket PP and noticed that on the contact surface on the outer part there is a lip going arund the whole thing except for in on smaller than a 1" spot where its even with the rest of the surface.

is this resurfaceable? also can i just use a air powered die grinder around the whole contact surface?

Don't use a grinder. You could use an air tool with one of those media pads on it though...
