pressure plate made of wood?

ok, here's my situation. i bought this clutch kit from Fort Wayne Clutch. i bought it for about 50 bucks off ebay (it wasn't bad of a deal, it was a full set). when i finally recieved it, i noticed that the pressure plate kinda felt like wood. upon closer examination, i confirmed that it IS wood. is it supposed to be like that? i'm working on my friend's eclipse, and his pressure plate doesnt feel anything like mine. i'm a noob when it comes to clutches, so any input will help me out a lot.

Er, haha, I hoped you were joking to start with... but evidently not....

Just out of shear curiosity, do you have any pics?!

(ps, you can't make a pressure plate out of wood... )

Its made of "organic" materials, like organic brake pads. Same thing basically. It does look like wood kinda.

Your thinking about the drive plate. The actual clutch disc.

The pressure plate is going to be made of metal.

Damned, you got ripped. You actually bought a kit for 50 bucks on ebay?

Sorry to hear about your luck, but I would contact the buyer, because I don't think a pressure plate is suppose to be made of wood. Considering all that friction, heat, tranny fluid in there, it would probably be thrashed within 3000 miles. Or less.

But I could be wrong. If it was a clutch kit, was the clutch itself at least made out of carbon fiber, or a harder metal material? Or was that made of wood? LOL
Just joking.

If you can post a picture that'd help.
It is probably just a stock organic clutch disc.
