Arrow Prep for Racing beat exhaust...

88 GTU N/A manual, stock exhaust....
I have a Bonez race pipe which will attach from manifold to the Y pipe of the Racing Beat exhaust, (when I get the setup). Are there any pitfalls I need to be aware of or will it fasten right up? What about the thin pipe the comes off the cat? What or where will that attach to?

With a race pipe it won't attach to anything. By putting a race pipe in you are going to disable your 5th/6th ports. If you wan't to keep them I would suggest buying a Racing Beat presilencer.

Or you can just wire open the 5th/6th ports and call it a day.

I don't know about the fitment you would have to ask someone else about that.

Are you sure about that? The race pipe is 2.5" and should replace all three cats. The RB setup is 2.5" as well consisting of y pipe and muffs...
Anyone else???

I would go all RB with the exh pressure feed for the aux ports or do the air pump mod (air pump will open the ports).

I think a race pipe would be too loud for any apreciably driven street vehicle. The racing beat system is just right.

I understand what you mean. However, I just got off the phone with Rotory Performance and the Bonez race pipe has a location for the Split air pipe to hook up to, so in turn it should still open my 5 & 6. My current stock exhaust has so many leaks and holes it's ugly. It's LOUD as it is but still barable, so I think, not sure but I don't think the race pipe will be any louder than what I am running now. Besides it has a built in resonator in it as well. Not sure if it will help any in conjuction with a RB catback.

straight exhausts are very loud. ive come home from headaches not from the gas fumes, but from the noise. my exhaust keeps me out of the throttle 80% of the time. it was a previous owner mod, among other things...

I have the bonez race pipe with Apexi N1, it isn't very loud at all.
Also, I don't see why it wouldn't bolt right up. I didn't have any problems with my setup.

The Bonez race ppe will bolt up to the RB cat-back with no problem. Also the race pipe has a backpressure tube to actuate the auxillary ports. It will not be too loud either.

hate to thread jack but do I need that split air/backpressure pipe to open the 5th and 8th ports? Mine isn't hooked up, is that why my car lacks top end, and is there any other way to have them open without wiring them open? Thanks.

Electric airpump and RPM switch, do a search. It is also covered in the FAQ up top too.
