Question Powertrain mods

I just wanted to get some advice about what the most basic/most needed powertrain mods are for an S5 NA powertrain. From what I've read this is whats available....

- Competition motor/tranny/diff mounts
- Engine Torque Brace
- Short shifter
- LSD swap
- Upgraded clutch

My goal is just to have better power delivery and more responsive shifting. As it is the shifter wants to grind if its being "slammed", there's a bit of wheel-hop and the clutch slips a lot. Note I do no intend to launch my FC I just want to know what I can expect, whats feasible and some feedback from people who have done some or all of these mods.

The grinding is probably your sychros going out, you might want to get that looked at. Of course, it could also be your clutch not disengaging completely, take a look at your master and slave clutch cylinders just to make sure they're not leaking and not low on fluid.

If you're up for it, get a puck-style clutch disc. Most 6-puck discs won't grab as violently as 4-pucks. Also get a SS-braided slave cylinder hose.

As far as shifting itself, a short-shifter with all new shifter bushings will make your shifts feel solid and quick. Run some high quality RedLine transmission fluid as well.

If you like instant response, get solid motor mounts to go with the Mazda Competition tranny and diff mounts.
