Im interested in removing my power steering pump on my fc for a cleaner look and to pick up some extra horses. Is this worth it and how would i go about doing this?

First you have to find a manual rack, and from there its pretty easy. Some may say to plug the p/s rack but the gear ratios are diffrent and would be harder, i think to turn. There is a major diffrence in road feel, but it is harder to turn at low speeds. It took me a while to get use to it, cause i had p/s also, but noe i think it is better

I hate to say it but do a search you will find a couple of good threads one of them even has all of the bolt size and pitch that you will need, you don't need to switch to manual. it is extremely similiar with manual rack and PS rack switched to manual. I have driven both cars one right after another, no real noticable difference.
But do a search you will find alot of info. Most people that do it like it.

you willnotice very little if any difference. the power steering is pretty much freewheeling above like 20 miles per hour. Our p/s system has is a variable speed sensing system. I removed my a/c power steering, added a header, and s5 upper intake manifold and olny gained like 15 horse, dyno' proven
