my power steering rack was leakin like hell,

2 questions

does anyone know where to buy a Steering rack "re-build kit" to refurbish the rack..
my local mazda doesn't support RX7's..

is the rebuild kit a regular thing to buy at the dealer? any online places sell it?


since i can't drive with a leaky rack, i converted to manual..

I greased the inside parts as best I could and put it back together, and left the 3 holes open...

since I can't do the regular conversion method with loopin the hose back and leaving some fluid inside... a mechanic told me that if i drive the car this way, that i'll end up killing the rack cuz all the plating will get rubbed off the metal inside...

any opinions? can i just leave it and drive it around "dry" with it only be greased up inside? or should i order a PS rebuild kit from the states and re-build the rack?

 

well why cant you do the normal loop?

 

cuz the oil is just gonna leak out again... the rack can't "hold" the PS fluid cuz it's leaking from the toothed shaft that connect to the tie rod..

WHO SELLS P/S REBUILD KITS PLEASE! i'm getting arnie arms as we speak.. i'm gonna have horseshoe Tri's and softball biceps in a couple months
