Power Steering Leak

Hey all--I just bought a 1986 GXL with a known power steering fluid leak. I searched all over and checked all connections, and it looks like the mechanical seal on the pump itself is the source. Has anyone else seen this?

Thanks in advance.

Yeah, mine leaked just before the pump shaft bearing tore up. Loosten the belt & feel for bearing wobble. Look for a replacement in a J-yard with no bearing wear. -- or just remove the pump and jumper the lines for that stiff manual stearing feel.

Don't blame the pump. Ocasional high revs are good for the motor, but hard on accessories.
