Exclamation Power steering HELP!

Hey would it be safe and ok for me to hook up my power steering rack and pinion and pump without using a belt to drive it. It would pretty much be like having no power steering right? Or would doing this physically hurt the steering joints or cause other problems?

I have everything I need I just don't have the pulley and the guy is sending it to me and I would like to just put everything on today because I have the time, but no pulley. LOL

It'll be an absolute BITCH to drive. It's not like having no power steering, it's like having manual steering and having to run the pump with the steering wheel too. There'll be a huge amount of resistance to steering. I'd be surprised if you could even park it without getting cramps in your arms. Wait for all the parts before doing it.
