Power steering fails after 5 minutes or so

So here's my situation: Power steering system is fine, no leaks, lots of tasty fluid, but after five minutes of the engine being on it just seems to stop. I searched and saw somebody post that if my speedometer isn't working (which as of two days ago it isn't) the PS computer doesn't like it and as a result the PS will not work correctly. Is this true? Also, does driving like this damage the PS CPU at all?

Do you hear any annoying beeping noises as you're driving along?

The PS Ecu sees signal from the speedo,so ya,if that is not working your PS would be out of whack.
Get the speedo fixed up and see if that helps your PS issue. The speedo is mechanical (cable) fed so it isn't hard to find what may be wrong with it

Yeah that was it. The plug into the transmission had come loose and fallen off. Tightened it back on and everything works perfectly.
