It will loose alot of power once your engine blows from boost creep.

i've got two friends with piston engines and big turbos and their cars spooled a lot slower when they temporarily ran an open downpipe... the flames under the car were pretty sweet though.

and yeah an FC has the boost creep problem, so you better make sure you have a really good wastegate

The basics:
All auto engines breathe in pulses.
The Standing Wave Resonance of the intake & exhaust runners makes a big difference in the power curve.

A header dump has less outflow restriction, but it kills the SWR tune which kills the power curve.

BUT - on a turbo the turbine kills the SWR - and the temperature & pressure difference across the turbine is a primary factor in its efficiency.

The bottom line: A header dump works great on a turbo, but not so great on an NA.

My preference- make it selectable.

Here's a little video with the header dump open.

You can hear I was having some trouble with wheelspin on the 2nd gear pulls.

Oh yea.
You just have to remember to close it when parking in the grass.
(BTW I pulled it off the wreck & Kevin now has it.)
