Power loss when cornering?

I seems to have a "cut out" effect when I hit it through a corner (if I dont put my foot down it's fine). If I flaw it going straight it's fine. It also happens most of the time when I turn left?

I'm guess electrical problem but I don't know where to start looking.

Ohh.. I have a '87 turbo Jap import.

Check your fuel pump in the tank, chances are it's not holding gas so when you corner it splashes around and is sucking air instead.

Check the fuel filter in the tank. Its a little net. Its probably got some gunk in it and it isnt allowing the pump to get enough fuel on the turns. Its a common problem.

Also, try searching next time. I know this has been covered before.

I agree. A friend of mine was having the same problem. When we pulled the fuel pump, the gunk was so bad on it, that the fuel filter had caved in in the pump. Not a very nice situation!

Here Is another consideration. Check to see your Air Flow Meter Isn't tilted or loosely bolted on the retaining bracket.

Having It any other way should cause a disturbance. Thus causing the ECU to accomadate erroneous readings. (The above pertains to a s4).

Thanks for the many usefull advices. Before reading them I tried another trick to fix the problem. The fuel filter looked like it could move from side to side so I fastened it. When I took the car to a test drive the oil pressure gauge in the instrument cluster showed zero oil pressure!! So I looked in the engine bay to see if I by accident disconnectet the wire to the oil pressure sensor. I found a orange wire with some stripes on it by could not se where it should go. Can anyone help?

P.S. I dont know yet if the filter fastening trick is any help because the test drive came to an abrupt stop when I saw the zero reading!

The fuel pumps strainer is either clogged up, but more probably *glazed over*. Buy a new one or soak that one in Acetone overnight and then blow it out with compressed air.
