power loss in my 86 na

need some help with a problem guys. a few weeks ago my na started acting up. Started her up one day and she sounded different. pulled her out of my driveway and noticed a huge power loss. felt like i was only getting 10 % of the power or so. I had a problem with clogged fuel injectors about 8 months ago and had them sent off and cleaned. so i check the fuel filter and its all clogged up. i replaced it and she seemed to run a bit better but still has an unreasonable powerloss. Is it possible that when the fuel filter clogged, the injectors got clogged again? I checked the fuel pump and the filter on the pump looks fine. Guess im just wondering if the problem could be anything else?

any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Check your compression. Sounds like a textbook blown apex seal only running on one rotor case. I have an 88 na up on blocks right now with the exact symptoms you described and that is its problem. Hope I am wrong and it turns out to be something else. If not though, it sounds like it is time for a rebuild or another engine.

Good Luck!

oops. forgot to mention. that was the first thing i thought it was too. i nearly cried that morning. but i pulled out the trusty compression tester. and the motor is still pushing 110 psi on each rotor, thank god.

Check that one or more of the spark plugs wires hasn't become disconnected. It happened to me once, (at the coil) and it felt like I had only half an engine in there.
