power lock wiring help.

I have an 89 vert and the power locks arent working. I know the actuator solenoid works, but I dont know how the circuit is designed. Can anyone help me? Even if you can only tell me where the relays are that run the actuator. I have no clue and I dont want to cut open looms to trace wires.
Sorry I know I should get a service manual. I have an 86 but it doesnt have the locks in it.
Thanks

The contacts in the drivers door lock probably just need cleaning.
You can get to it by just removing the plastic door handle cover.
Spray contact cleaner behind the lock switch as you work it up & down.

I use CRC "QD contact cleaner" from the electrical section at Home Depot.
It's also good for logicon buttons & sliders, stereo controls, seat belt position switches, TPS plungers, window switches, headlight switches, sunroof switches etc.

Checked continuity at the switch. Switch is OK. Solenoid is ok. I need to find the relay. Anyone know where it is?

Sky,
Factory manual for '88, page 50-102/3 says it's relay R-33, and it shows it being in the trunk area, beside the power antenna.
These diagrams are a bit sketchy, so you may have to thrash around that area somewhat to locate the relay, but at least you have the general area!

i was having the same problem you have. the relay is right next to where your jack is. its held on by one bolt. it is bracketed together with the rear defroster relay i think. the dorr lock relay is green and says it on top. hope this helps. lemme know what happens and if i can fix my car the same way.
