power doorlocks on a vert without power locks

I would like to start out by saying I spent the last hour searching for an answer. I found nothing so here is the question...

I have an 88 vert with the factory alarm system but no power door locks. I am wondering if i install one of the keyless entry kits with the door actuators, will the factory alarm still work. Or will the actuators trigger the alarm every time since the key is not going in to the door. I guess the real question is how does the factory alarm disarm itself. All I know is if the car is locked and you reach into the car and touch the unlock switch the alarm goes off. Thanks in advanced

You have to put the key in the door to disable the alarm, i dont know if a aftermarket system would mess that up but you could disable the alarm system if you really want those power locks.

they is a "Factory Alarm Disarm" wire behind your glove box. at least thats why mine is. i installed a remote starter and will be adding door lock motors very soon so i just hooked up the disarm now, so all i have to do is wire in the motors.

Im pretty sure my alarm box is under the glove box too. What system are you using for remote start and door locks. how are you triggering the alarm disarm?

Ic. I was planning on keeping this install simple but since its not its time to look into a full alarm system. Its funny how simple cheap projects are never simple or cheap for an rx7.

I have this set up. Here's the deal.

Your factory alarm will not arm itself just because your aftermarket locks the doors when it's armed. However, if you open then close the trunk after arming the aftermarket (thus locking both doors), that will arm the factory alarm as well requiring you to disarm the factory alarm with the door key before you disarm the aftermarket unless you simply enjoy hearing the horn honking. This is true for any vintage 2nd gen with factory alarm.

The beauty of this is if someone with a black box disarms the aftermarket, the automatic unlock will trigger the factory alarm. Thus you have redundant security. That's a good thing.

If you come to 7Stock look me up and I'll show you you this in action.

Just a 5 hour drive away, less for this this year given this years venue.
