have you tried manually opening it? there is a hex screw on the roof to open it.if you can open it easily the motor is probably on it's way out. if its tough to open, the rails are probably rusted/stuck.
edit: wtf is an aerial? i had originally thought sunroof but are you talking about the windows?

Is there an aftermarket radio installed???
If so, chances are it is wired incorrectly. There are specifics on how to wire the the power antenna to an aftermarket radio in the FAQ for FC sticky thread found at the top of this section.
If there is not an aftermarket radio, then the mast has probably broken internally and needs to be replaced.

Unless
Unless the mast a broken mutiple times, and in that case you will need to open up the motor assembly for the power antenna and remove all the old broken parts of the mast before you can feed an new mast in.

sweet! i have the same problem, i thought i was going to have to buy a motor and assembly. But if its just the mast (my motor still makes noise when I turn the radio on) then cool beans!

The motor cable first goes to a relay (green box thingy above...usually rotten circuitry inside from repeated rain drops/condensation). It is easier to remove the nut from the relay and disconnect the cable later. The cable also continues to the harness plug...awkward to get to!
All the Mazda connectors have some kind of clip on one side to prevent the plug from coming loose. You have to remove the foam (anti-rattle crap) from around the plug and figure out which type of "clip" you have. Most you can just squeeze and they release. Some will have to be pryed with a tiny screwdriver first.
My aerial (antenna in N. America) siezed up and it turned out to be all grunged-up where the long plastic gear thing winds on a drum. A good cleaning and lubrication brought it back to life.
Have fun getting at it all! You have to be a midgit Japanese contortionist to install it.
