Potentially Cheap ignition upgrade?

I was looking on Trademe (NZ Ebay sorta thing) and I noticed that someones FC was using 4 trailing coils (2 sets split up) instead of the standard setup.

I didn't save a picture at the time and now cant find it, and I cant seem to find any info around.

Just wondering, is there any benefit to this setup at all? I have 4 spare sets of coils

im pretty sure two of the coils is to replace the leading coil

Since the leading coil powers both rotors leading plugs in a waste spark format you will need a standalone ecu to control the trailing coils if you want to run them as leading seperately.
Its not cheap to run 4 separate coils, you need a standalone, and they are not what you call cheap.
If you want a "cheap" ignition upgrade, run a CDI box.
