Post your weirdo original Mazda options here
My vert had those 6.5 inch woofers. I thought that was standard with the vert. They were little boxes behind the seat on the floor that had a built in amp and a 6.5 inch woofer. Looked more like a 4 inch full range to me. But I took them out. I still have them if you want pictures.
I'd be more curious on what type of door speakers you had. Were they subs like in my 89 convertible?
I'll take those rear speaker boxes if you want to sell them. (or at least give us some dimensions & mounting pictures

Mystery Tank
At the risk of getting sucked into this obsession with my car (my friend was just telling me last night that his high school gf hated his Mustang convertible because of all the attention it got) i gotta say this:
>>Mazda used 2 different directions, so the right side of the car would match the left side!!
>>Not like Ford Probes, where the wheels on one side rotates backwards than the ones on the other side.
ROCKS. I'd love to get a set of those. Would they fit on my car?
I'll have to check how many holes on my factory spare.
How about a mystery reserve washer fluid tank on the 88 convertible (back left corner under the hood). For a non-existant back wiper maybe? The mechanic i bought the car from was stumped. . .
My personal favorite is not really an option, but you gotta admit, giving your passenger their own headrest volume control in the center is a very considerate thing to do.
Rain
P.S. Gotta get me one of thos luggage racks. My car is beyond impractical for the weekend getaway. (I pack light, but let's just say there's a reason he drives a mustang with a full backseat AND room for lawn chairs in the trunk

my 10AE has NO embroidered seats (but they are the nice AE seats), and the factory bra that came with it does not say AE either. I'd LOVE to get a set of AE rear seats (just any black leather rear seats)
mine's got the kickass-hondas-would-call-it-a-performance-item forged steel spare rim.
headlight sprayers, WTF? who cares. (mine's got 'em, never understood why you'd want to use them though, if the car is THAT dirty, WASH IT)
hmm, what else is weird...
that the AE seats aren't power, but some turbo seats are, that the AE stereo (which is suppossed to be an upgrade) sounds/looks worse than the normal stereo (and 120watts my ***, it's pretty damn quiet for 120W)
that reminds me, does anyone know the VIN range for AEs?

My buddy's 88' SE had manual windows power sunroof that is weird. My TII has that alloy looking spare that the honda boys would like to get there hands on. My GXL had Auto Adjusting Suspension but I would put it in normal and (can't remember the other setting) but it wouldn't make on difference. My rear washer fluid tank has always been back there with the spare in both GXL and TII. That's where it is supposed to be right?

One of the guys here has an 87 TII with the scooped steel hood.

Blake, count mine as the second one then. I also have the pinstripes!
Sureshot. . .why does everyone have trouble finding the aluminum jacks? I've got 3 sitting around my house right now! I've only seen ONE of those heavy assed blue steel jacks. . .

I would definitely like to see how that was done since mine did not have them either. Mine did come with the lighted door keyholes, though.

Hey vaughnc, If you rmember, Mazda started out their previous cars with rounder tail lights so the way I see it its just a step back to the good ol days.
How about adjustable head rests on an 89 GXL with AAS, All power everything and a tape player? I hate the tape player. Oh and it has the neat little equalizer, that didn't come on my 90GTU.

Although it is very easy to tie them into the dome light circuit by jumping two traces in the CPU.

$200 more? jeez, I'd rather have $200 in my pocket than 3lbs less weight in the car.
