91 Vert: $2000
91 TII used for swap: $3000 shipped
(w/ Mazda Reman, 2.5" DP, Pettit Hi Flow Cat)
TII swap (Labor): A couple cases of beer and some Taco Bell for my friends
RB catback: $600
K&N: $50

Not too bad, though I haven't really starting modding yet. Coming soon is an ACT clutch, 3" turbo back, SAFC II, 720cc injectors, Walbro, FCD, coilovers, rims, etc.

No real way to know what the TII vert is worth, but either way its so much fun I don't even care.

Custom built, door panels, panel behind the seats, rear side panels, and box. 5 amps, Dolby DTS in dash dvd player, 7" widescreen flip out head unit, DSP under the seat, center channels are built into the front of the rear view mirror, perfect components, 2 subs, kappas in the rear. Custon made glove box to hold the dvd player and DSP controler.

I bought most of the components online at auction but still had around 4k in cost plus the custom stuff was around 3.5k and about 2k worth of components and wiring from the audio store. I have 2 1f caps and a lightning audio battery as well. I've redone the back end once already and it's different from what the pictures on my page show.

The car domain link in my sig has some pics of my car.

'87 Turbo II with 120K - $2500
Fresh paint job and body straightening - $1500
Mazda reman engine - $2000
Rebuild of reman from blown seal @ 8K miles - $600
Koyo radiator - $350
RPS 6-puck sprung clutch - $325
60-1 turbo, manifold, wastegate, dp - $1500
Haltech E6K with term. harness & injectors - $1600
RP Denso pump - $260
A'pexi Dual N1s and twin chamber BOV - $900
Greddy Profec-B (replaced by AVC-R later) - $300
A'pexi AVC-R - $500
Gauges (mix of Greddy and Autometer) - $550
TechEdge v2.0 Wideband - $300
JIC FLT-A2s - $1500
JIC front strut bar - $135
5Zigen FN01R-Cs with Yokohamas - $1100
Momo steering wheel & adapter - $150
Razo shift **** & pedals - $75

Total: $16,145

I haven't included the numerous "little" things, like hoses/fluids/PM stuff, or misc things like alternators, starters, water pumps, brakes, etc.

Also, I didn't include three new items to be ordered next week...2 1200cc injectors and a new custom FMIC setup. There's another $1K combined.

I'm never gonna get rid of this car. Not only will I never be able to sell it remotely close to what I've put into it, this car has been my pride & joy project for the last 3 years. She was a complete wreck when I bought her, barely able to pass smog and keep up with Honduhs. Now she's a fire-spitting beast. Everything that's been done to my car, aside from installing tires, has been installed, fixed or rebuilt by me. Same goes for tuning.

Anyways, the car does exist, and the mods are real.

Click here for pictures and the modification list.

I am at about $5,000-$5,500 right now.
My car hasn't ran since I bought it six months ago on a blown rotor. It has most of the interior ripped out, had a messed up 1/4 panel, with maaco paint. Should be finished with the engine in about a week. I have done all the work by myself and/or with friends. Mods in sig, plus many more stock replacements...

Because I live in Sweden and have to order everything from US and pay 35% xtra in taxes + shipping for alot of money I have spend more than $24000 on my car and It´s still far from finished... haven´t driven it since the summer 2001!
The amount is without EMS, any exterior mods... I wish I lived in the USA!

Too much.

What started out as a $150 car has spiraled into almost $5k. Not done yet, either.

Wow, this is going to be embarassing.

Talked a used car dealer down to $5000 tax/tags/title. It is a '90 'Vert w/ warentee and free radio (Bought it w/ a non-functioning radio, so the dealer said he'd give me $150 + labor twards whatever unit I got)

The car runs perfect, everything except the wipers on "INT" setting worked. Inside the trunk I found all the parts I would need to preform a full tuneup.

----------------------

$1100 differential change-out screw up on my part, leaving me with three spare differentials. I don't want to talk about it :-p
$500 Headers/Used RB Catback/Streightpipe
$150 Bought a Bonez Cat from Santiago
$45 K&N
$230 minus $150 Audio (including dynamat of entire interior of car)
$250 Audio upgrade: 12 disc changer, XM radio.
$200 Clutch job #1 (Including oils seals and all), the Sachs unit (I hated it sooooo)
$350 Clutch job #2, I love you ACT.
$180 New Kumho tires through connections
$90 New 'vert rim and Kumho tire, was run off the road by a black expadition with diplomatic plates. He diecided it was not in his best intrests to stop, and drove off.
$70 Full tuneup (new . . . everything)
$20 Oil drain switch
$95 Fully rebiult starter w/ lifetime warentee
$25 For a new heater hose and anti-freaze when the thing BLEW UP after a race, leaving me stranded in front of somones house with it all pooling up. I'm glad no one asked what I was doing while I was under the hood . . .

$750 for a mint condition 89 Toyota Corolla SR5 for my girlfriend, whom I met because of this RX-7.

How about mods list, total, and dollars spent to (rw) horsepower ratio, like mentioned before?

I'm about $11,000 : 140rwhp, thats $79 per horse.

Doesn't really work since most of my money is in suspension.

88 Vert - $2000
New top - $300
GXL seats - $200
CD player - $200

So far: $2700

Still needs new struts, springs, tires, hood, mirrors, body work for all the dings, carpet, the freakin stereo trim that costs a bajillion dollars, new antenna, top motors, and a paint job. It will fall victim to the turbo II swap next year...muahahahaha.
