post pics of non-flip-ups light conversions
I'm sure this has been posted before, but any photos of custom front bumpers with flip-ups gone would be great....

Thanks Justin,
Wow! Now thats an RX-7
I'm trying to decide if I want to try something myself, but from what I've see most of the front bumper has to go as well as that round cross member bar thingy..... Is this the case??

i have a friend that modified his stock S5 bumper for non-flip up lights. Looks the same in Dr0x's sig. And he did all the work himself. Looks clean. Sorry if i dont have pics of it.

I sort of agree with Boosted rotaries on the East Bear lights not being as cool as I pictured......That red car above looks okay, but someone had a great photo of them on a white car and I didn't like them at all.....
I don't think it would be hard to duplicate the RE-Amemiya version I just wanted to see if someone has done that....I would NEVER pay the money for that Y2K bumper thing they offer......What a waste of money....I mean there only lights for god sake!!!!
I guess my biggest consern is how much of stock safety bumper has to go bye bye....that makes me nervous!!!!!!!!
any more photos would be appreciated very much!!! thanks guys!!!

you're right, they don't really flow with the body lines very well. i think if the lights were square instead of round it might look a little better, but in all honesy i don't really think any of the non-popup kits look any good. there's a kit around, can't remember what, that uses the regular housing but instead of one big light switches to two smaller round ones mounted on a flat black surface. this could be a good alternative, but you'll only see them at night.

The only reason I like the East Bear lights is that I don't think I'll have to give up the bumper that so many people ditch. I've seen various guys with the FMIC right in your face up front behind the skin, and it looks great don't get me wrong, but if I get into a situation I don't want to eat the motor, nor will insurance cover your loss...No BS!!! so very set on keeping the bumper on.

i really like the new RE Amemiya kit, it is damn pricey but i like it. it actually has a nice continuation of th body line in it.
bkapold, after chating with soul assassin about installing that kit he said he didn't have to cut anything on the car to get it to fit.
good luck, have fun

No offense dude, but whoever color matched that bumper needs a bullet
As far as RE Amemiya goes, sure they make nice looking stuff. But IMO they dont have 1 ******* right to charge like 2000$ for it.
And no I have not bought the kit yet, however I am in the next month or two. Some of their spoilers say "must be molded into rear quarter panel, have a professional install" or some ****. So that might explain some stuff.

Has anyone ever looked into a kit like they offer for the Miata. I would rather use something that looked like this, then a fixed head light.
They only open half way, and are better lighting then the stock sealed beams.

I've thought about fab'n another manufactures headlight assembly....Like a Supra or something thats not to ricey....... The BoMex bumper i have isn't cut out for flash to pass lenses so it has plent of room and I've thought about options there too......
Don't flame me, but the latest Prelude headlight assembly is along the line of what I'm trying to describe because its shaped somewhat like the RE-Y2K thang.....not that I'd use Prelude lighting ......
Any good photo-shop guys listening on this????
its just a thought and I'm not sure how it would look
