I've thought about just cutting away the rest of the FTP hole to the back edge of the bumper cover. There IS a little tubular support there, that would have to be worked around. (replaced with something.) Then replace the stock headlight mechanisms (and the heavy-*** motors) with a solid mount that is JUST high enough to clear the bottom of the FTP opening, and just a hair further back to preserver the lines. Use about 3/4 of the original headlight cover as a top, and the original plastic surround to smooth it, and shape a sheet of aluminum to "fill" the sides and bottom. I have a spare bumper cover, perhaps I should try it out.

if i was doing the re amemiya kit, i'd have to change out the TII hood for something else, even a n/a style hood would look better. as far as the price goes, that most likely includes the massive amount of money they pay to bring the kits over here. you know how hard c's short shifters are to find in the us? well, they go for about $75 at super autobacs in japan. we get ripped off like you wouldn't believe.

Are you refering to FC's? Or to some specific manufacturer?

What's that sound? Is that a write-up I hear coming?

seriously though, you should do it. This is more or less what I've been envisioning for mine also but just haven't committed the time to actually try it (or anything else lately for that matter). So if you do it, let me (us) know how it goes -- I'd love to see the results and see if someone comes up with a 'budget' way of doing the non-flip-up headlight conversion!!

C's, it's a parts manufacturer. I meant to say the their shortshifters for the 240sx/silvia are very hard to get here.

Just by chance I came across this page and now I am almost considering selling this car for a fixed light TurboII.

Anyone want to buy a turbo 1st gen?

I must say that this is the first time I've actually looked at anything other than the FD3S being the most beautiful car ever created (the FC is my love and all...but the FD is the ultimate for me). That black FC is truly gorgeous.

The RE-2000 kit runs about $1600-$1800+shipping. The lights are another $450. Then paint...install...whew that is expensive!!!!

exactly!! Its insane what that costs.... I can afford it and I still can't justfy buying it....
My Bomex bumper isn't nearly as cool, and I'll be the first to admit that, but for 450.00 its close enough and the lights aren't that tough to fab...I've done alot harder things forsure... I can't see spending 2k plus on a bumper when the average Turbo is only worth 5k...At least on this Forum

yes, it is expensive, but it seems to be marked up quite a bit, however, your prices are a bit off. you can get the kit with lights for $1680

do you have any front-end pictures of your car, bkapold? i've been curious about the bomex kit for a while but have seen many good pics of it on actual cars, and in an actual real life setting (the bomex website doesn't help much).thanks

Did anyone ever make that kit that was supposed to be similar to the Cwest 3rd gen headlight setup? (The one with the two lights, one large (catz msc) and one small).

Did it end up not looking good or just not fit? Or is it that people are lazy and never tried to make it......

3isacharm...... give me your e-mail and I'll send you some front end photos of the BoMex bumper..... You can post them if you want to for others to see, because I can never figure out how to do it....

1,600.00 is still pretty spendy, but I will say its by far the coolest bumper available for our cars..... Is that huge wing RE-Amemyia offers like 1,300.00??? Thats just insane.... I don't like big wings much anymore but that is kinda cool, but kinda to much ....ya know? Whats funny to me is that lots of RX-7 guys claim things are to ricey but is that because Honda people ruined it for everyone or they just don't like big wings.....funny!!
