im done with used engines, if this one is really going. ill know tommorrow, then ig going for a rebuild. the real question is would i do a n/a or t2? i currently have an n/a, and have had it for 1 1/2 years, pretty comfy with rotarys now, but just looking for opinions.
n/a or t2, and why?
i just need enough power to screw with the civic and acura kids really, but boost would be fun.

making power on N/A isn't really cheap or easy compared to turbo.

take it to Bruce Taurrentine(did i spell that right?) and have him build it... hed be a really good person to ask if you need turbo or not... BUT, i cant say hes cheap, but itd be right...

and the same for Kevin Landers... from what ive heard these guys are the top on the east coast...

I hate to say it but a Turbo might be a good idea... Or go and buy a Renesis

yeah but everyone knows TIIs are fast, be different... besides im planing so NA tuning aswell(ports mainly i guess... im trying for 200hp NA on an S4, thats right, i said it... 200hp, S4... :p)
but do what you want/need... i say a stock rebuild with ports aught to be fun, you dont need a turdo for fun...
besides, you have more of the parts for an NA dont you?

be different?

cut me a ******* break...

the only people who say that are people who try to cheap out for power and wind up regretting it later but just don't admit it to themselves. sure there is some self gratification breaking the 200RWHP barrier with an n/a for $4000+ and when it breaks it is a gut wrenching catastrophy!

Keep this in mind:

If you want a ported N/A (i'd reccommend at LEAST a 1/2 bridge to make it worth your while) you WILL need a standalone to run it properly.

With that said you can make probably 40 more horsepower than the above setup with a stock TII motor & turbo (or perhaps a sage 2 hybrid) on the stock ECU with a cheap piggy back. Not to mention that the turbo setup will have more room to grow with less effort at that point.

If it were mine.......I'd give in to my boost addiction.

I am one of those people. It is not worth it to stay NA. Unles you're building an ITS car or something.
