103k..stock for majority of its life..boost crrep at 12 psi end of 3rd so on..i endend up geting full rb exhaust intake and throwing on several other mods all in a week and a half time then didnt make it through a full tank of gas when the "strong gas smell" and no power took me to a halt..
It'll buff out.
Worst?
Nah, it's fairly typical of an engine failure...

i would have to guess on that engine ted shows the flywheel key sheared off and the engine was tuned to surpass 12k RPMs, of which it ran past and cracked the rear stationary gear which then let the rotor move in whatever direction it felt like, which was planting itself into the rotor housing at an angle which locked it and twisted the motor. all the twisting action broke everything apart.
i have seen worse than the OPs engine also. when dealing with high horsepower you start seeing much more dramatic failures. the worst tend to be on the old 3 piece 2mm OEM apex seals though, they have a tendency to break up into multiple pieces when they fail.

I wish I had the one that I found in a junkyard. It was a turbo block and I was stoked when I found it but when I opened it (didn't pay for it) it was jolly well fucked. I found out the junkyard owner was using it as a boat anchor.
i saw one sitting at our local yard, propped up on its side with no exhaust manifold on it, the chambers were filled to the rim with muddy looking water, i felt sorry for that poor engine..
