POSSIBLE LEAK ( idle fluctuation )

I TOOK OFF THE INTAKE on my 87 sport today to 1st . do the throttle body mod 2nd. to look for a vacuum leak seeing that my car's idle fluctuates and is also high in the rpm's while fluctuating. i replaced the lower intake manifold gasket eventhough i had a rebuild 4k ago . cant be too sure. i saw no hoses loose under the manifold. i sprayed starting fluid everywhere after the re assembly and i got nothing. the throttle body mod seemed to have let the idle go down a little bit. now im idle fluctuating at around 1300-1600 rpm's at idle. have i missed anywhere?anything i havent done? can anyone help me out? any suggestions will be helpful
thanks
jack

i had a good tps today but for some reason the button on the tps got stuck so i had to use an old one i had sitting around and that is making the idle die down a lil and i think this tps is bad. maybe ill have someone adjust it for me and see what that does. but anyone got any other suggestions

First off, lets answer a few questions:

1. Did you disable the thermowax?
2. How much into the TB mod did you go?
3. This high idle, is it while warm/cold?
4. Have you adjusted/set your TPS?
5. Have you set the idle per FSM/BAC?

These will help in guiding you to a fix.
