Is it possible to enable the 120 km/h buzzer on a US spec dash?

For various reasons, I'd like my car to make going significantly over the speed limit very annoying, at least for a year or so. I know that to remove the speed limiter buzzer, a screw is removed from the back of the j-spec dash panels. What kind of screw would I have to put in to enable it (or does the US spec panel lack the buzzer)?

I have a spare dash, if I can just use one of the screws from that.

I thought that the jspec dash screw removal trip was for the speed governer, not the buzzer.

There are two. One is a speed limiter (180km/h IIRC), and one trips a buzzer at either 100km/h or 120km/h - not sure which (and maybe it depends on the screw hole used). I'm looking to selectively enable the 120km/h buzzer, if possible.

The speed warning on Japanese cars is at 105km/h.

Ah. That's a bit slow. What's the 120k screw hole on the back of the dash for then?

I don't understand why you want it.
I've been in a Nissan with that blasted 100kph (about 62mph) "chime", and it was irritating like hell.
I'm sure you'd pull that damn thing out faster than you'd have installed it, if it were possible.

I would think that's putting this in to deter another driver from going over the speed limit. Probably loaning the car to a younger relative, or something similar.

Well, actually, to deter myself from speeding. Speeding ticket, loss of license possible, "keep my nose clean" period, etc.

I thought there was a 120km/h one, but if there's just a 100km/h one, then I won't bother.

And, yes, to help deter other people from speeding as well. My brother got a nice ticket when he was driving it. I don't loan the car out, but I'll let other people drive it. I don't trust people to understand the concept of "premix or the engine dies," and "let the damn thing warm up before whomping on it."

hmm i had a great idea to "save gas" and avoid speeding, i had an ajustable shift light and id lower it to 3000 rpm! and it had a brakelight bulb in it and that thing was BRIGHT and RED! it was annoying as hell lol. u would wanna shift right away so u dont go blind lol...... then i also think 3000 in 5th is prolly like 80 or so? maybe u could set it at 2800 snce thats wen the shift up light comes on so u can get good gas milage and not speed! lol

I'd like to know this as well. I'd assume that the part is absent from U.S. spec cars. It'd be a good thing if I had one - my license is suspended and I'd like to avoid unnecessary police chases. I think it would also come in handy in keeping track of speed while racing on backroads. That way I can have an idea of how fast I'm going without taking my eyes off of the road.

Bummer. A mate of mine had a Jap-import R321 Skyline with a little bell that rand at 105km/h. After a 5-hour drive with as much time as possible spent at 110km/h (and the radio cranked up) it never rang again...
