Is it possible to add +2 option in back of a car that was originally only a 2 seater?

Yeah, u just have to find the seats and some brackets i believe. Other then that, its pretty easy.

It could be done, but there's no way any human being taller than 3' could seat back there. Not worth it, in my opinion.

The one I had in my T2 was blue leather, I'm sure they made it in black leather. In fact, I think I remember a couple floating around on this board for sale.

I did it to mine, mine's blue leather, in my blue cloth interior. =)

Basically, it's not a problem to do, but be warned, the seats are very tiny and useless, but they do work in a pinch. I've had four adults in at one time, it worked all right. It's just nice to have it in a pinch.

Anecdotal story here:
My "family car" was in the shop and I had to pick up my kids in the 7 (hey, it's why I was happy to have the +2 anyway, right?).
My three-year-old,climbing into the left rear seat, says "Help daddy, my feet are stuck!" I flip the driver's seat forward and, with a little twisting and wedging, get her feet under the back of the front seat. Then I put the seat-back uh...back.
She says " I don't like this car anymore daddy. Why are the seats so small?"
"They're not really for people, honey." I said.
"That's why Emmy has to sit in the smallest one then." Says the five-year-old "big" sister...

Just a little slice of the +2 life.

Cory

My soon - to - be RX-7 GXL has a back seat...Grey Charcoal Leather just like the rest of the interior. Its nice because i haven't yet found another RX-7 like that.

i was wondering: how do the clips that keep the seat in the upright position bolt up? is it a direct bolt in?

direct drop in. seats fold foward. and lock in place by two levers on each side when up. try to find a rx7 with back seats so u can see first. really no room for adults. good in a pinch. not for carpool. really only good for small children. when my kid sits behind me, it feels like he's alway kicking the back of my seat, i yell at him and he says he's not. seems he's just moving his feet but it feels like kicking. oh and he's kindergarden.

well, they're brand new, never installed, never sat in, thats why I'm saving them, they'll be pretty expencive if I decide to part with them, but feel free to make an offer.

lets see if this works

as you can see i didnt use enough adhesive so its not sticking to well but i will get around to fix it someday, and i put the seat belts on the wrong spot. but other than that it came out pretty good for 50 dollars uncluding the seats
