What is the point of porting the wastegate?

porting the stock wastegate helps control boost from rising when modifications are added.. for example performance exhausts.....using the search button will yield even more information though

you fail at searching. it doesn't "give" you performance, it prevents you from blowing up your engine and turbo from over boost. If you put on a giant exhaust and intake, the boost will exceed the flow capability of the wastegate. Instead of a nice safe 8psi it will creep to 10,12, 16psi, etc and blow up your engine eventually.
