Hey anyone have any pics of their ported intake or exhaust manifold?
Can you port match the intake manifold with the blocks intake, and same with exhaust?
the exhaust port coming out of the block has a shape in it is that for anything?
could you port the secondary port that turned by the actuator?
would you see a huge improvment in throttle response?
thanx

you dont want to port the exaust manifold, its like frickin tough metal. just get a RB header. they are pretty cheap. 180 new, and you can find them as low as 100 sometimes used. they make quite a difference. also, talk to MazdaSpeed7 about intake porting. i know hes done his and he said i made a biiiig difference. do a search on intake porting, there are a few threads on that. good luck!

The non-turbo rotors can not be ported thanks to that exhaust diffuser. There is a thourough write up at:

oh yeah, i forgot to mention that. when i rebuilt my NA, i swapped in a set of turbo II exaust sleeves (didnt have that stupid thing in it). so that thing will pop right out. if you want them, ill sell them to you. i paid $50 for them. PM if you want more details...
Actually NA exhaust ports CAN be ported, its just a bit more of a pain. I've heard of several people here porting them. Mazdatrix, just doesn't like to do it, but it can and HAS been done.
