Porting Dos and Donts

Alright so I need to know the requirments first of all, ca you port the engine without having most bolt-ons or not? I'm bringing up the question because its begining to look like i might need to do a rebuild soon so i am going to cover soem ground while the motor is out like porting the wastegate ect.

Yes you can port the engine without any other mods done to the car. You'll get a little benefit from it. You really need to do the other mods to fully benefit from it though. As long as the engine will be out and apart anyways go for it. Don't go too extreme though such as a bridgeport or anything.

And dont accept any advice from Von about porting...

I would buy templates from RB. Their Turbo stuff in general seems pretty good(you might have read about how I feel abou their n/a stuff...), so it might be worth it to buy the templates from them.

Yeah, take a look at von's "Tore engine apart and here's what I found thread!" For what NOT to do when porting.

I won't be doing the porting myself either, still trying to find a good place. Adding on though, "Bridgeport"? And i thought the stock exhaust set up was dual cat for a TII(87).
