Porting...??

Is a streetport something I should try to do? I really don't have alot of experience with this sort of stuff but with the right tools would I be able to sucessfully port my engine? What about a bridgeport, could I even think about trying that? I have seen pictures of each and think I pretty much understand what each is. Permanently messing up my engine really isn't a factor seeing as i bought the hole car for $200. It needs to be rebuilt and I am planning on getting an over haul kit and doing it myself aswell. Or should I just send it off to be done professionally? Any do's and don'ts of porting, if I can? All your help is greatly appreciated.

Street port you could do yourself with the right tools. A bridgeport is something I wouldnt even attempt by myself, but Im sure it could be done with a steady hand and the right tools.

From what I hear after doing about 10-15 housings you can pretty much eye a street port and be done in about an hour.

Read that thread, it has A LOT of good information from experienced porters. Call up a few rotary shops and see how much they want for a few damaged irons that you can practice on. They arent worth much and the experience you get is priceless. Plus this way if you **** up its like a 25$ mistake and not a 400$ one.
