Porblem with my Fc, someone please help!
Hi guys, hoping someone can help me out here.
Car has been running fine, no problems until last night. I was driving around doing my usual, and i pulled up to a light and the car stalled. Restarted and went on my way. Came to another light, happed again. Rest of the night the car would not idle.
Today I tryed ajusting the idle, no good. I richen the fuel mixture and the car would now idle a 900, but very rough. It will go to 900 to 1100 to below 500. It sound like a miss.
To night I go to leave and my head lights wont go up. I tured them up and searched for a grounded head light wire, no good. Later on when I turned the lights off, they went down, but would not go back up.
Now the car will not idle again, and the headlights will no go up and my head is spining faster than my rotors at 7 grand.
HELP a noob please! Joe
P.s car runs normal above idle speed.

stupid question, but did you check all the fuses?? i had a headlight retractor fuse pop, and i was scratching my head for an hour before i figured it out! as for the no idle problem, could be a vacuum line, or a possible tps sensor.... in most cases, a spark plug would slowly cause a rough idle.... not a matter of seconds.

Your retractor fuse is in your engine bay fuse box...
Check the gang ground underneath the trailing coil pack, it's a black connector on a clip that's bolted to ground. Your headlights themselves ground here, but I don't know about the retractors. In any case, if your headlights are working fine, disregard the ground...
Is your charging system up to par? Battery, alternator...

Did the problems start after a hard run?
It actually sounds like two different problems, the first sounds like a vac hose fell off somewhere, and the second sounds like the headlight switch maybe. Do the retractors work with the "alternate" switch?

No they dont go up at all, neither switch, only if ya crank em. I did that one and then after awhile like I said I turned the lights off and and they went down. This morning I switched the fuse for headlight retractors and no diffrent, lights come on wont go up.
I really cant remeber if it was after a hard run or not, I do so many.

First thing that pops in my head is to get them back up, and look around under & behind the headlight assy at the wiring harnesses, every time the lights go up & down their harnesses get bent, and sooner or later something gets broken. Grab a meter & the FSM wiring diagram for the retractors, and check for voltage on the circuits that don't seem to be working, with the headlight switch in the appropriate position. Is one or both of the retractor motors "humming" when the switch is moved to "up" with nothing happening?

I cant say I heard humming, but when the switch was on, and i tryed to turn the lights up manually, there was resistance,a kick back i guess you could say, until I turned switch off. theirfore power to the motors? The idle problem I dunno that, I changed the plugs and took it for a run and now it will idle. Maybe something just got wet, it has rained for a few days strait now.....
