popping noise @ 6,000rpm ??

I FINALLY got my T2 running.. S5 into 87 t2..in addition to 820cc secondary injectors, but no type of fuel mangemant... anywho, i took her hard up to around 6,000 rpm and i started to hear popcorn popping sounds from my exhaust, from 5,500rpm and the power seemed to have topped out.(no fuel cut or anything)

i hope im just running too rich for my own good, but could that be detonation??

-TIA

maybe you should check your timing? I think that your also running way rich, You should do something about your fuel. I bet it makes nice flames though!!!! Also did you use the s5 computer when you did the swap?? If not that also could be the problem

Popping sounds like raw fuel being burnt in the exhaust. Get a safc and tune away...

Stock turbo I assume.

Too much fuel, you need something to control it.

My car is an NA but it does the same at 7800 all it is is afterburn so dont sweat it.... that does mean your running rich and you need to fix that problem if you want your car to run properly

well i have a "pop" noise in my 91 na and it only occurs at full throttle from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd. i was told that it could be my pre cat that is clogged. no harm i guess.
