Thats always an option. But I dont think a lot of people are going to keep an old blown motor sitting around for probably well over a year. I agree, jspecs are useful if you pop a motor. Its a cheap way to get ur car running, or use it for parts. Or just rebuild a shitty one you picked up. But to say there are a bunch of prestine motors sitting over in japan is stupid.

Agreed. Using a Jspec is a way to have the car running while you build a new motor, if your looking for a reliable motor it's probably not the best option.

I doubt this. In fact, I think its just BS spewed by the J-spec import companies designed to coerce foolish, naive people into buying junk engines. Of course there are some reputable ones out there (www.fc3s.org), but in all honesty, I think its a waste of money to buy a J-Spec.
