If you do the work yourself, it can be done for pretty cheap. Probably about $400-$700 depending where you buy your parts from. You can buy rebuilt FC engine cores (with yours as an exachange) from many rotary shops, and those range about $1000-$1700.
Sorry to hear the engine went. Why did it go? Was it just that time (high mileage)?

There are no rotary shops around that are worth a crap (or any at all for that matter?). There are a few people in the area that can do motor rebuilds/swaps but it would be an out of a home garage and I am not sure they have the time at the moment. Your best bet is to order a rebuilt motor and swap them over, it will save you alot of time and heartache in the long run, or if time is not a problem then you may opt to rebuild it. It's up to you.
I am going to get a reman and try and rebuild the one that is blown in mine will be a bridge port and rebuilt and maybe sold if it works properly or maybe i will simply keep it arround until the reman goes! then i will always have a spari engine arround!
your closest bet would be to go to Tampa Mazsport. Great guy. yank out the engine yourself and make a day trip and take it to him. I would go with your own wter rings and oil control rings from Mcmasteror/ McCarr they would be way cheaper and save you over a $120 dollars. look at the single turbo page for more info.

My buddy GLHS bought a J-spec motor from that website I posted and it was in great condition, very clean and new looking. His car ran fucken great!
In Japan, they have a emissions over there where they have to replace their engines or get a new car when they hit 30,000 miles......if my buddy did get a used engine from the junkyard it was quick as **** and ran great. It spooled up so fucken quick compared to my TII.

Ryde or die: I know him, indeed. He raced me in a white RX Subaru. He has tried to race me in my 7 as well.
Billy, if you're still gonna rebuild her yourself, I was gonna ask.... give Danny a call, he rebuilds, too I believe. His name on the forum is P'cola FD.

I found a jspec motor with turbo and tranny for 880AUS. I was quoted $630CDN for a new housing and $225CDN for a rotor. Why would I not throw the Jspec in and when it goes use a housing and rotor from it to rebuild another one. Plus I'll get a stock turbo and a backup tranny if I might need them. The Jspec is a viable option for some people, dismissing the idea is what's foolish.
