FUCKKKKKKK! ok I'm pretty sure it was the apex seal started it today after waiting for a pizza, i was hoping it started so i wouldnt get imbarassed by it flooding but instead of flooding it started and something jsut POPED so freakin loud at the front end . i drove it home but it wasnts fun i had like NOOO power at all, it satled when coming to a complete stop , when me and my buddy got back to my place we opened the hood and it reked as if something rubber was burning ... What you guys think?? correct me if I'm wrong... HOw much is it to rebuild the engine?

if u plan on doin the rebuild urself, kits can be had depending on what type of rebuild u want, from basic-to- swap it all. Check the gen.2 vendors list for atkins rotary, they should have the kit(s) u want.

Where in canada are you? I'm in Ottawa, ontario and i can suggest a great mechanic to take it to in smith's falls. I don't think it is the apex seal... but definitely sounds like a seal of some sort... take your spark plugs out, take a compression tester (take the nipple out of it so that it bounces instead of showing the highest point of compression) and have a friend turn the engine over... If you see two bumps on the tester, it's an apex seal. If you see three bumps, it's something else. Repeat for both rotors. It might just be a hose that you ruptured (especially if you smelt burning rubber) or who knows... Narrow down the issue... perhaps we could assist you further.

Are you a CAA member? If so, you get free towing up to 200KM ... usually, you can talk to the tow truck dude and throw in an extra 50 and he'll tow it anywhere you want. This way, you can get to Hartin's Automotive in Smith's Falls on Hwy 15. He's a very knowledgeable RX7 mechanic, and i'm sure he'd be glad to help you out. He has very decent rates.
