Angry Poor Idle troubles(info??)

87* NA

The car is jerking at steady rpm when im moving

And now it is idling rough too???
it straightens out if i rev it up a bit but then it will go
back to the rough idle after a while???

Also it is making a throuty sound i have never heard before???

Could it still just be my TPS???
Any ideas

Thanks much

I have the same problem with you too.
My car jerks at constant rev, but i can't get to high revs with my car. i still dont' know why. When i press the gas to the floor, it can't get more then 3500K revs, then it lose it power.
I went to the mech. he told me i have to bring my car back to the dealer to get my "throttle body valve" change. i'm not sure if is true, what do you guys think?

Please help.

The7, Hmmmmmmmmm.... could be a vacuum tube leak. Make sure your whole intake system is airtight .

Could be the TPS too.

Does your exhaust smell a tad like gasoline?

Sounds to me like a TPS, 7. Have you adjusted it and how? Personally, I like a digital VM. Look up instructions on the net if you need to. Easy as **** and works beautifully.

sir sun, the jerking at say, @2500 RPM most likely is the TPS. The 3500rpm thing sounds like your secondary injectors aren't coming online. Had a compression test done lately? DON'T GO TO A DEALERSHIP! Take it to a reputable rotary mechanic.. that "throttle body valve" might be what we'd call the BAC, but who knows... still sounds fishy to me. Get a 2nd opinion.

I have a similar problem, smelling gas, poor idle, misfiring at high rpm, etc. My problem was diagnosed as a bad throttle body that was not opening and closing as it shoud as well as bad catalytic converter. BTW I did take it to a rotary guru after growing weary of watching the local dealership hump the football. I ordered a used TB off of EBay (as well as entire upper intake) for $90.
