Poll: Stay with 18's or go with 17's???

Ive had these 18's on my car for while now, and i can say that they do look nice, but they are too heavy and i can feel a loss of power from them. So a friend said he has some 17x7's he would be willing to trade for my 18's,along wiht some money from his side because im going to have to buy new tires. What do you guys think? Right now the 17's have 205-40-17, and that is too small, so i was thinking something like a 225-45-17. Oh and yes, i know the wheels are dirty. The new ones are enkei rs7's. Old ones (18's) are ADR Flite 5's. ANY input is welcome.

Comparison

Yes i wouls need some spacers

It's really upto you in the end, but I'm selling my 18s to my brother to get some lighter 17s.

Edit: I forgot to mention I think the 17s look better.

I have 245/40 on17x9s in the front with coilovers and 20mm wider fenders. There's about 10mm betwenn the coilover/tire and 15mm between the fender/tire. So unless you want to replace the front fenders go with 215s or 225s in front. Check the official FC fitment thread for rim and tire fitments.

Performance is greater than looks. Don't be a ricer. Ricers put looks over performance. And If they don't then they are not a ricer to me. But it is more important what you want out of your car experience but 17s still look good. Considering my future car will have 13s on it.

yeah, the 18's were a mistake from my earlier days i suppose. Now that i have enough money and time, i can correct that "big" (pun intended) mistake. But those were awesome tires, the gripped extremely well, good ebough for me to keep up with 350 hp 7's.

Stick with ur 18's They are a nicer rim you have ruber for them.

I have a set of 205x40x17 on baby dolls GTU and it is to small. The rims came with that ruber no option :-(.

You can check them out in my sigy.

go with the 17's their better overall for performance, leave the looks to the ricers.

less rotational mass is more effective than just dead weight alone.
