Plumbing My Boost Gauge To The Throttle Body? Removed Secondaries, Have Spare Hole...

i have my UIM removed at the moment and am planning on removing the secondary butterflies.
i was thinking about the hole on the side of the throttle body that most ppl jb weld or plug up with a bolt.
has anyone tried plugging up a boost gauge from there?
would the boost readings be thrown off by installing it from this location?

boost gauge has to be between the throtle blades and the engine, and it has to see vaccume/boost signal from both rotors to read correctly...

oh i assumed, it went anywhere it is exposed to boost. hence boost gauge.
i figured it would measure boost, aslong as it is exposed to an area where boost is built up.

You won't be able to read vacuum as that connection will be before the throttle plates.

I have a diagram of what I did on my T2, and it is probably the best place to plumb it in. I'm on a work computer right now, can't access photobucket..

I'll post it up when I get home.

You would put the tee for the boost gauge in between the tee to the pressure sensor and the upper intake manifold. So, BEFORE the tee for the pressure sensor.

This could be backwards, I don't have my T2 to check anymore, so..Aaron? Back me up or tell me I've got it wrong? :-D

Install three nipples on your ACV blockoff plate and install the line on any of the three nipples.

They shoulda shot the guy who made the first ACV blockoff plate and didn't install a couple of nipples on it. Kabamm.

one thing tho, i have an NA.-turbo that doesnt have the 3rd nipple to the Air bypass valve.
well come to think of it, i'm probably going to get one from the junkyard.
could i replace the air bypass valve with a blow-off valve?
i'm assuming that it'll be just fine.

Any vacuum source is fine. Most people T into the line that goes to the pressure/boost sensor.
