CA Plug Identification

basically on the starter harness there is a white plug not plug into anything. now i look on my friends car he has some sort of small block like thing connected to the transmission block and a wire going towards it. i dont have one what does it do? thanks in advance

while that is all very vague
ima guessing its next to the oil pressure sender,, and is in fact a condensor/cap to attenuate the oil pressure signal
( slow it down and leak away any system RFI )

its usually a little black square thing that bolts to the gearbox on NA and to the firewall on turbo's,, near the oil pressure sender

nah,, some work fine without it,, some others tend to go max scale on the gauge
myself have aftermarket oil pressure sender and gauge , never trusted that vague mazda one

I have the same plug disconnected, and my condenser is missing as well. Never had any issue with the gauge, so I haven't bothered with it.
