PLEASEE HELP: Clutch Problem

I was driving yesterday and I went to downshift and the clutch pedal refused to rebound. I stopped at the nearest gas station and pulled it back up with my foot, and it continued to work fine. A little later that evening it began to feel really weird, there was a general lack of tension. This morning when I went to go to school I depressed the clutch pedal and it started fine. When I went to release the pedal it would not rebound again. So like last time I pulled the clutch pedal back out. Unlike last time it did not begin to work again. The pedal now refuses to work at all. I am thinking that it is a clutch cable problem because my clutch has 4k on it and has been working at 100%. Any help would be appreciated. Thank You.

Exclamation

Sounds like your clutch cylinder is busted or or malfunctioning. I'd check it out. I'd also check the hoses to make sure they're not popped off or anything. But I'm pretty sure it's your clutch cylinder, can't tell if it's the master or the slave but it's one of thsoe two. Good luck!

Peace,
AJ ^_^

With a brand spanking new cylinder with labor costs upwards of mid hundreds.

Peace,

Try checking your fluid level and bleeding the thing - master cylinder has a nasty habit of leaking at the rubber seal on the bottom of the reserviour which gets hard with age.

Clutch Cable

I think you should check the clutch cable...if you can find it.

Seriously though, a slave cyl. rebuild kit is like $4 from autozone. You should check it out...while you're there you could get a Haynes manual to help you find the clutch cable....

Yesterday I was driving and all at once I had no clutch pedal. Was able to pull it up and get back home. It was the slave master, cost $60.00. The slave was $30.00. I picked them up in town at a Import parts store about half the price from Mazda and they are new parts from Japan.
